The Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, located in Thiruvananthapuram in the coastal state of Kerala is an institute of national importance under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.Established in 1976, with the mission to promote research and development in #biomedical_engineering and technology and deliver high quality patient care in selected specialties and sub-specialties along with developing postgraduate training programmes in advanced medical specialties, biomedical engineering and technology, the institute is one of the most prominent research centers in the area of medical sciences and technology. Since its inception, the institute has been working efficiently to create critical #medical_devices in the country.In the last five years, Sree Chitra has transferred about twenty technologies in the medical devices sector.
